What distinguishes the Cambridge-Stratford Study Skills Course System:
Students learn through "hands on" practice. Each time-tested lesson evolved through the actual teaching of students at three distinct grade ranges of reading and cognitive skills. The trial and error format challenges participants to engage the use of a new technique or skill and discover its effectiveness immediately using relevant practice exercises. Plus, teaching is easy. Complete, detailed, and "scripted" lessons are included with each Teacher Manual. They combine with Transparency and Listening Tape Sets to ease preparation time and maintain the emphasis on "learning-by-doing." Finally, each course is sequential and learning is cumulative. Completion of all three courses by students in grade levels of 6-8th, 9-11th, and 12-college is recommended for a scope and sequence that includes approximately sixty hours.
